The middle third

The journey of GrandpasCan 2018 began just west of Watson Lake, YT. The route takes us to Key West, FL, a journey of 7200 km.

Many of you have heard Arvid speak of the challenges of the middle third. The middle third is when the excitement, enthusiasm and motivation of the starting line is long gone. It is easy to question why in the world you ever started this difficult task when you are in the middle third. The finish line is nowhere in sight. There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. The middle third is (usually) the most difficult.

We have now completed the middle third. We are in the final leg of the journey. That is not to say that this third is easy or that victory is assumed. Keep in mind he still has to pedal approximately 2300 km. No easy task. Temperatures are in the high 30’s with high humidity. Staying hydrated can be a challenge, but so necessary in order to stay on the bike.

Arvid is doing amazingly well. As support crew we are doing everything we can to assist him.

Many of you have been praying for him and for us. Thank you. Please continue to pray as we head to the Gulf!

Yes 2,300km is still a ridiculously long last third. But to hear that he is riding so steady with no surprises or major setbacks is always good to hear. Will continue to pray the last week remains the same as the finish line gets closer!

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.
