Good morning from somewhere in Saskatchewan

We all caved in at 3am this morning. Amazingly Juergen heard his alarm and we did eventually get up. Man was that hard. So now Arvid is pedaling away again onto the morning sunrise.

Joke of the day

Crew: ” another energy drink?” Arvid: “no, I just had 637 calories!” Crew: “how do you know?” Arvid: ” actually it was 644, but I didn’t eat one skin!”

50 km to Medicine Hat

Arvid is still fighting strong crosswinds at this point. Basically a headwind coming from the South is holding him back. From Medicine Hat it’s back to a regular south wind, maybe even a tailwind.

Pit stop

Arvid just stopped for 15min. Came into the RV for a cool off and a McDs milkshake. He put his feet in some ice cold water and chilled the bones for a bit. Wind going nuts outside.

Strong South Winds

Cross-winds make for a tough ride!

Another flat

Kevin and Juergen took care of it, while the media guy takes some shots.

Tail wind

If the tail wind keeps up like this, the Wpg crew should be ready to go on Tuesday morning. 🙂

Arvid in the Alberta prairies

Flats are good for cycling but kind of boring to look at compared to the beautiful mountains.

Stampede

At the sight of some cattle at the side of the road Arvid gave us a heads up on this trip. He’s been known to coax the Black Angus into a full blown stampede to the point where he was afraid they would break through the fence. But apparently he’s not able to do that with the Herefords.

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.

Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.

Donate

I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
