33 degree heat

Today is very hot. With the intense heat Arvid took some time out this afternoon to cool down in the air conditioned RV. He is now back on the road. Any time we stop at the side of the road people stop to ensure we are all okay. Very thoughtful people.

Triple A Q&A

Thank you for your question, Anika. It is a very common question.

Question: What does Arvid eat in a day?

Answer:

-early morning wake-up breakfast (4:10am) of a bagel with cream cheese and jam, bowl of oatmeal with coffee

-breakfast (9:30am) of 2 bagels, sliced in half and buttered with 4 fried eggs, one avocado, and coffee

-1:30pm Lunch of two wraps consisting of; avocados with mayo, polish sausage slices, topped with a cheese stick and kale salad with poppyseed dressing

-7pm Supper at McDonalds (or pizza, KFC, Hardee’s, as available on the road)

-10:15pm Bedtime “snack” chicken lasagne, salad and watermelon *

*this may vary from day-to-day depending on what we have available in the RV and what he feels like eating but most often includes some pasta and sauce.

Plus;

3-4 Gatorade (as needed for hydration)

-3 pedialyte for hydration

-chocolate pudding, cookies, pickles, chocolate bars, etc

-Red Bull, Coke, Root Beer as desired

All this to say, he eats whatever he wants whenever he wants!

The other day he ate at least 12 Peak Freens in one sitting!🍪🍪🍪

Kind Kenny

With the navigating required on this leg of the journey, we basically never leave Arvid alone on the road. That makes it challenging to empty the tanks and refill the water in the RV. Today we were completely out of water. We decided we would stop at a rural home if we saw someone outside. Kenny was kind enough to allow us to refill the water tank which means we can have showers tonight! Thank you, Kenny.

An amazing answer to prayer.

Most of the roads are narrow, and most of the towns are small. Good rest is vital to us all. Finding a good place to park for the night can be a challenge, but our Good Father has been providing wonderfully. (After-hour gas station lots, two Walmarts, an abandoned gas station and behind a small-town warehouse.)

Who’s your Good Good Father?

As seen on a church sign, reminded us of this song. https://youtu.be/-ak0OoFBw3c

And what a Kentucky reception

Since we stopped for Arvid’s roadside breakfast just a few miles inside the state of Kentucky, we have had three vehicles plus a sheriff stop to see if we were okay or needed help and offer for us to come to their home (with a pool) to cool off and relax. What a warm Kentucky reception! #southernhospitality

Cycling with Arvid…

…. was one of the things Luke looked forward to the most on this trip.

He had tons of fun. They rode for about 10km.

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.

Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.

Donate

I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
