Arvid has been battling strong headwinds all day today. Now he is riding in the rain. It looks like it will be a fairly short-lived system. This is the first rain he has cycled in since riding from Rancheria to Watson Lake on June 14. At one point today he was quoted as saying, “I am riding a 350km day with 450km effort”.
Was the question asked by crew member Luke when Arvid asked him to get his already-used piece of clothing. Anyone that has been on support crew will understand.
Arvid beat us to the border and told the border guard he would need to find a better crew! The border guard indicated perhaps he should not let us through. 🙂
Rick and Paul completed Leg One with Arvid on Sunday evening. They did an admirable job of accompanying him for the Northern Leg. Thank you! Enjoy sleeping in. You deserve it.
Early this morning we started the Southern Leg, from Winnipeg to Key West. Our new crew is our nephew Juergen Loewen with his 14-year-old son Luke from BC and Ruth Loewen.
5am and we are off! See if you can find Luke in this picture.
What a special evening it was as 250 people gathered to see and hear firsthand of life at MCF. Ndondo and Faith shared about their lives. Arvid shared about the significance of this year’s ride. We were blessed, inspired and challenged to each do our part in what God has called us to do.
Thank you to our banquet sponsors. Thank you to our table hosts. Thank you to the folks at Church at Pine Ridge for your incredible service in the kitchen. Thank you to each one of you who came out in support of this ministry.
We had an incredible morning with CFC of Newton. We gathered at Oakville Community Hall for a bike parade and then a service and lunch at Morrison Sport Park in Oakville. Thank you so much for hosting us, Pastor Bob!
After rain for most of the night, we awoke to a fresh morning. Arvid began cycling at 5am, heading to Oakville. We have some early morning fog and already saw two deer in the field. A beautiful morning. Rick sent Arvid off with a prayer.

About MCF
Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.
Arvid's Role
God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.
I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
