A funny moment

Obviously one of the hardest parts of this ride are the first 15 min of the day (at 4am), right after our alarm rattles us out of our deep sleep. Things need to spring to life here quite quickly, getting Arvid his coffee, instant oatmeal and a toasted bagel loaded with cream cheese.

Even though we are getting better at it, it seems like this routine is getting harder every morning. In desperation to clear the fog in his brain and get some food into his body Arvid said this morning:

“When this ride is over I don’t want to eat for a week, after that I only want to eat WHEN I WANT to eat”.

Ruth’s reply: “When I get home I want to turn on the faucet and let the water run for at least 2 minutes without wondering what else I can accomplish with this handful of water.”

Juergen: “I don’t want to drive for a long time”

This set off a fit of laughter, we thought Arvid might hurt himself.

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.

Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.

Donate

I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
