Arvid @ Rogers Pass Summit
It’s 3:26 pm and a greasy lunch is not in sight. Chips and coke won’t get you to Halifax. We are just shy of Golden AB. So basically lunch will have to wait till supper. But he’s still going strong, (just passed the 700 km point).
Nearing the 650 km mark, (and first time zone change) we are reminded that there are always new obstacles to be faced with.
Just shy of 600km. Huge climbs in between which really take a tremendous amount of effort! Don’t know how Arvid does it but he manages to climb them all so far. Thank the Lord for the great weather thus far.
Arvid had done about 40km before breakfast. Left at 5:30 this morning after 1hour and 30 min of sleep.
Distance: 570km 21hs 7min on bike 27km/h average bike speed 80 min. of sleep
Arvid is on the road and is feeling great. We are up and Doing surprisingly well.
After a couple of hours of that red light in your eyes you begin to see things. As Arvid just said: “anybody following us on the web at this time of nite has got no life.”
After 3 hours of driving into the night Kevin took the wheel now while Juergen has been cuddled up in the bed since 10:30pm. We’ve laughed a lot already, guess it’s getting early. 🙂 Amazingly Arvid is still on the bike. He just won’t give in yet for some shuteye. Go Arvid!!
Now 17 hours into the first day, Arvid has been off the bike for less then a half hour. (Due to traffic lights, an accident detour, and a flat tire.)
Arvid was just zipping into kamloops and we are keeping a close trail. It’s 9:45pm here >
