Arvid took a longer break last night to heal up some health issues. He had a great rest and seems very energetic this morning. His swelling is down quite significantly. Oddly enough, the swelling has serendipitously caused his chronic hip pain to disappear.
When we get a better data connection we’ll upload a video from Arvid.
Arvid turned in for a longer night’s sleep, 6-7 hours, at about 10pm CST. As you may have heard in our live Ustream with Arvid, he explained that the water retention in his legs needs to be addressed. This is a natural consequence of not having his legs elevated enough (which makes sense given his activity). He will rest longer in the hopes of resuming with decreased swelling in the morning. He said that at present his legs feel similar to wearing casts and then pedaling under water. Thank you for your support and interest. We’ll keep you posted.
We have cell access here in Upsala, Ontario that will allow a live Ustream update on the ride. Go to grandpascan.com/ride page to watch OR http://www.ustream.tv/channel/grandpas-can.
Arvid: We should stop in Upsala for a bit and get something to eat, spagetti maybe. Crew: Ok, but do you think anything will be open? Arvid: What do you mean? Upsala is so advanced every tree has wireless.
GoChi one of Arvid’s favorite drinks on the road on and off the bike. We don’t advocate drinking and driving but in this case it’s ok. “Thanks to Ethan Howell and Bruce Ulrich for supplying me on the trip.” Arvid
There’s a lot more traffic today coming out of Dryden than we were expecting. This can be helpful in creating a draft but makes communicating hard for the support crew. For now Arvid is doing well so this isn’t a big issue yet.
Arvid met a new friend, a fellow endurance racer. Arvid had a chance to tell his story, exchange email addresses and try and convince him to give RAM a try next year.
Thanks for the brief visit Shane. We hope and pray you get where you’re going. God’s blessings on your journey.

About MCF
Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.
Arvid's Role
God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.
I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
