Mr. Mulli is skyping Kenya while traveling in Quebec. It is amazing how connected we are!
Arvid leaves early in the morning while the evening crew gets a little more sleep. We’ve got small dining area in the RV where we have bread, jam, muffins, cereal and of course coffee. We track Arvid during this time using Vic’s iPad and the iPhone. Now we will pack up and chase Arvid down. -Stephen
As Arvid is on hiw world record quest from Vancouver to Halifax to raise money and awareness for MCF, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that we are traveling through the most amazing scenery.

What a great day today. Arvid was strong all day and deserves a good nights rest. We’re signing off for the night. We’ll see you all tomorrow morning.
Arvid has been going strong today our goal is to make it to Lachute sometime around 2am He did a great interview with john counsell on 590 in ottawa Arvid has been encouraged by the grandpas taking the 500 dollar challenge
Wow! We made it through Gatineau that was a crazy route with construction, detour, rain, new crew member navigating and every road sign being in french! Pastor vic was giving directions from the motor home arvid asked if he was leading his flock asray!
Charles Mulli is now an official crew member on through Halifax! Welcome to Melissa McEachern from Crossroads Communications.
Charles Mulli is the founder of Mully Children’s Family. He is a father to the 2000 abandoned street kids that Arvid is riding for. To have Charles in the crew for the final stage of this ride touches Arvid at his core. Here is the photo of the moment they met on the highway.

How does Arvid get from Vancouver to Halifax beyond the copious amounts of sweat and determination? Support crew.
(Photo note: Crew talks through who’s going where, when…)
Since Winnipeg Arvid has been physically an emotionally supported by a team of people and vehicles. Henry and Brigitte Penner hold everything together in the RV. It’s the ‘Hotel on Wheels’ for the whole team. Between the two of them they handle the cooking, laundry, wake up calls, fuel stops, etc. They truly are the glue that holds this thing together.
The actual chase van is stocked with everything Arvid needs to stay on his bike, 24 hours per day if he so chooses. It has a spare bike, bike repair supplies, food, medicine, energy drinks, phones, gps tracker and, most importantly, 2 or 3 dedicated support crew members. Their job is to follow behind Arvid to keep him safe from motor vehicles, prepare his food, supplement and drink needs (which change quickly depending on conditions).
Often Arvid needs conversation to keep his mind occupied and, as road conditions allow, we pull up beside him and chat. We read him the prayers and support emails and blog messages, update him on donations and pray with him, all while the bike is moving towards the goal. At night, the van stays close behind every moment – the van’ lights are his guide down the lonely road
During daylight hours we can leave him to pedal on by himself for a few KM while we purchase him food and drinks, fuel and whatever else is needed. When he needs a short nap, we clear out the van and make room for the mattress.
Arvid’s wife Ruth along with Josh Ruby, Stephen Redekop, Victor Neufeld and until yesterday, Henry Bergen pull 12 hour shifts, any time of day or night (Crew shifts begin at 2pm and 2am). We sleep if and when we can. Maybe we’ll post some crew pics later

(A message dictated to the support crew by Arvid early this morning)
Good morning! It is a gorgeous morning to be alive. As I put on my jersey this morning I was struck by the images I saw – Charles Mulli (founder of MCF) with hundreds of his rescued kids. What really struck me were 3 little words. Saving. Children’s. Lives. What an awesome privilege and responsibility. We all have to do exactly that. As I contemplate those words, slowly my reasons why I cannot do this changed to reasons why I can do this.
My challenge to all of us today is to find ways that we can all be part of the many miracles that happen at MCF (Mully Childrens Family). My specific challenge to grandpas today is to raise $500 each for MCF before I reach Halifax in approximately 4 days. I invite you to call your kids + grandkids and encourage them to participate. I’m looking for 100 grandpas! Feel free to contact me on the road. You know where to find me. I’m the old guy on the bike. Please share this with as many people as possible. GRANDPAS CAN. Be one of them.
Arvid has been back on the road for about two hours. He’s back!
