Arvid’s knee has been holding up well and we’re just now crossing the border into Oxford, Ohio. Heading down the Main Street, we were privy to a heroe’s welcome from the enthusiastic locals. It’s now down to a mere three more states — Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and then through Maryland to the finish line!
One ongoing surprise on this trip is how much America’s topography varies across its states — even within its states!
If you had blindfolded us in Columbus, IN, and taken them off in the rolling hills east of Oxford, you’d have no trouble telling us it had been 20 hours and we were now in Holland or Switzerland. The towns and streets we rode through bore Germannic names, and the houses also had a
strangely European look to them.
Make sure to look out for the upcoming “Through Arvid’s Eyes” post – and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
We couldn’t help but think how this is the America that many people see in movies, but would never find if they were touring the Country in a car. This is how it’s been everywhere we go.
The indescribable scenery was the perfect response to the mental and physical setback of knee problems. Amen to receiving comfort just when it’s needed!
Stay tuned for more updates.
So thankful the knee is holding up!! We will pray that the night will go well!!
Comforting to hear that Arvid’s knee is holding up …. thank you Lord for answering our prayers!
We continue to pray that you carry him up and down the hills until the finish line.
Be with him, protect him and provide mental and physical strength for each remaining pedal until he finishes. Amen
Wonderful post. Thankful for answered prayers for Arvid. Our prayers continue for all of you!!
