First 24 Hours Done!

Arvid’s been on the road for a full 24 hours now. When he’s on a ride I usually go to bed thinking, “He’s still biking.” And wake up thinking, “He’s still biking.” Look back to the roadside crew’s posts for the night’s details, but I’ll give you the 24-hour stats:

24 Hours: 538 km
Total: 538 km
Average: 538 km
Buffer: 96 km (ahead)

Take note, the buffer is calculated on an average of 442km per 24-hour period. This is exactly how many KM he will need to complete in order to match the record. We fully expect Arvid to build a buffer at the beginning and attempt to sustain it for the duration of the ride. Notably, the current record holder would certainly have done more than 442km for the first days as well. We don’t know those splits – all we can do is take an average from his total distance and total time.

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.

Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.

Donate

I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
