I am not with the media, but I want to compliment the Olds Albertan for printing a correction. It initially said Mr. Loewen “crossed Canada, but he did not cycle through Newfoundland and Labrador.”
Not coming to Newfoundland and Labrador is a major thing to NLers when people are riding, walking, or otherwise moving across Canada. Travelling from Vancouver to Halifax is travelling across about 85% of the country. More importantly, it creates the impression that NL is not a part of Canada. That is insulting, and NLers have no respect for those who stop (or start) in Halifax.
