Decision time

Arvid continues to work on improving his mineral imbalance and dehydration and heat exhaustion. This imbalance has caused severe cramping making it impossible to ride at times. He has been working very hard in extreme heat and terrain.  His stomach issues are also nowhere near resolved.

We have decided to take a hotel for the night and make a final decision tomorrow morning.

RAAM has two intermediate ‘soft’ cut-off times. With this rest we will not meet those times. With our successful history with RAAM, there is some flexibility, but absolutely no flexibility on the final arrival time in Annapolis. RAAM is suggesting (and we agree) that we rest and make a final decision in the morning.

We appreciate your prayers. This is not easy.

“God is our refuge and strength. A present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear…”
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Arvid, Ruth, and support team. We’ve been reliving all the adventures of RAAM 2013 through California and Arizona.
    Rest well my friend.

  2. Darlene Blumrich says:

Praying God’s direction will be clear to you, and you will be flooded with peace once you make it.
Keep thinking about “With God all things are possible.”

Encouragement, strength and peace to you Arvid and crew!

  3. Ruby Family says:

The boys have decided you either get a ride through the desert and keep biking, or hook up engines to your bike. They didn’t understand why you’d be disqualified for doing either. No matter what happens, they will always look up to you and be proud of you.

  4. Jodi says:

Wearing our jerseys and staunchly proud of Team Grampa, no matter what. (Also, Lachlan does not care that the tracker is not moving, he just keeps asking me to “bounce” Grampa.)

  5. Ken Croy says:

    We are hurting with you!
You are doing amazing work with whatever decision is made.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

  6. Matt Pearson says:

Been praying for you tonight, Arvid. Praying that you rest well and that you find peace and strength knowing God is in control.

  7. Noreen says:

    Prayers are with you Arvid

  8. Stan Wiebe says:

Cryin’ a few tears here for you Arvid…either way…we love you!

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.

Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.

Donate

I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
