RAAM from the crew’s perspective

A big yawn. Where to start? Day fades into night fades into day … Mornings are particularly difficult as we drive in to the morning sun. We try not to all be sleepy at the same time. This is also a difficult part of the day for Arvid as he would rather be sleeping as well. Our challenge is to keep his mind stimulated along with looking after his nutritional requirements. There is great camaraderie among our crew and many moments of laughter. RAAM rules allow the support vehicle to drive alongside Arvid for one minute four times per hour. During these moments we can hand off food and use the minute to share a story, joke etc. We read him encouraging comments and tweets. We navigate, track his progress, and call in to headquarters at each time station. One would think that it is boring for the crew but there is always something to do. We thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.

I just stepped outside to look at the gorgeous moon and stars in our lovely Manitoba sky and I prayed for you Arvid. I have no idea how you do what you do but I know why you do it. You inspire me to serve God 100% in everything I do. I love how you do this so unselfishly for those beautiful kids in Africa. I get that and I only hope I can make a difference in those places God wants me to. God speed to you and all your crew.

  2. Elfie Kehler says:

    Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
In tough times it is comforting to know that we can claim this from our Lord.
Just came from a visit with Ervin in the Hospital, showed him a map of the route you are cycling and where you currently are.
He asked several questions and said: “Tell Arvid he is in my thoughts and prayers”

About MCF

Charles Mulli is a former street child from the slums of Kenya. He became extremely successful in business, but then God called him to give it all up and care for the orphaned and abandoned children still on the streets in Kenya. Charles Mulli is the founder and CEO of Mully Children's Family. To learn more about MCF, click here.

Arvid's Role

God has called me (Arvid) to be an ambassador for Mully Children's Family. I have chosen to use ultramarathon cycling as my platform from which to fulfill this calling. You can follow my ride, here, at www.grandpascan.com/ride. To read more about me and my story, click here.

Donate

I am asking you to help. I am trying to raise funds for the ongoing and capital expenses for the child mothers program at MCF. This program provides the critical life skills the young mothers need. To learn more about donating, click here.
